As we begin planning for our next Bay Area Retreat, we’re also building something new, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

What makes the Bay Area Retreat so special? It’s rarely just one workshop or one speaker. More often, it’s the conversations between sessions, the laughter shared over meals, the feeling of being welcomed, the quiet moments of connection, and the reminder that none of us has to walk this path alone.

Year after year, the Bay Area Retreat brings together members from across our fellowship to reconnect, welcome newcomers, strengthen our recovery, and build lasting friendships. For many of us, it’s become one of the most meaningful weekends of the year. Those moments don’t happen by accident. They happen because people choose to serve.

Recovery is at the heart of everything we do, and the retreat is one of the ways we give back what was so freely given to us. Every act of service helps create a space where someone can find connection, hope, and perhaps hear exactly what they need to hear. Together, we carry the message.

This year, we’re not only planning another retreat. We’re building a Retreat Team.

You may notice we’ve changed our name from the Retreat Committee to the Retreat Team. That change is intentional. We want this to be a place where everyone has something to contribute, where ideas are welcomed, where responsibilities are shared, and where serving together is both meaningful and enjoyable.

We’re creating clearer roles, sharing responsibilities, and making it easier for people to get involved in ways that fit their interests, talents, and availability. Our hope is to create a Retreat Team where service is shared, new ideas are welcomed, people support one another, and serving becomes another way we experience fellowship while strengthening our own recovery.

Whether you have an hour a month, a special skill to share, or simply a desire to give back, there’s a place for you.

Not sure how you’d like to be involved? That’s perfectly okay. Come meet the team, hear what we’re working on, and see if something sparks your interest. There’s no expectation to take on a big commitment. We’d simply love to have you be part of the conversation.

Whether you’ve served for years or are joining us for the first time, there’s a seat at the table for you.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or are just curious and want more information, please reach out!  I am more than happy to connect with you.

We hope you’ll join us as we continue building not only another meaningful Bay Area Retreat, but a Retreat Team where everyone has something to contribute.
