2017 ANNUAL S.A.A. CAMPING TRIP ON SEPTEMBER 8, 9, 10TH

Join us for a weekend of fellowship in the beautiful Centurial Sierras. Bring your tent and sleeping bag, and enjoy hiking in forest, swimming, boating, stargazing and an amazing recovery community. There will be an opportunity to attend workshops under the pines and attend morning and night meetings around a large campfire. It is a great opportunity to meet and share recovery with other people and develop new friendships in the program.

Robust meals are provided as a part of camping experience. Breakfast will be served in the crisp clear morning air with the smell of campfires, bacon and sausage cooking, lunch is a build your own smorgasbord, and dinner is served by candle light under a sky filled with stars. If you have specific dietary considerations the meals will be tailored to your needs

In the spirit of being in service, each camper will be assigned to a food team and share in the preparation and cleanup of a meal. Also we will be carpooling as much as possible, because of the limited parking availability. Our Ride Coordinator will help you pair up with a ride; just let us know your needs when you register.

On line registration will open on August 5, 2017. Registration can be made by check with a registration form available on this website or at your local meeting. You can also register on line using the SAA camping web site (bit.ly/2017SAACamping) and paying through PayPal. An extra $1.80 will be added to the fee for the use of the PayPal services. Registration will close Friday night September 1, 2017. Unfortunately, if you have to cancel your reservation after Sep. 1, refunds will not be available. A conformation letter, facility description and overview, a camping essentials check list, and a map and directions to the camp site will be emailed to you upon registration.

The cost of the weekend is $80.00 for three days and two nights of camping. This will include payment for the camping site and all of the meals at the campout. A limited number of scholarships are available that will reduce the registration to $40.00. Please request the scholarship with your registration application.

The campsite is restricted to a maximum capacity of 25 campers so register early.

This event is restricted to S.A.A. members only.

If you bring a pet, Forest Service campground regulations require that your pet be leashed, at all times, while in the campground area.

All funds over and above the cost of the camping event will be donated to the International Service Organization of S.A.A.

Location: Lower Bear River Reservoir; Bear River Group Campground, Chipmunk Camp Site

There is a wealth of sponsoring experience, knowledge and skills that reside within individual sponsors in our fellowship. This workshop endeavors to share this breath of experience from one sponsor to another, throughout the fellowship. Its aim is to help potential and new sponsors with fundamental skills and understandings that will smooth the transition from sponsee to sponsor. In addition we can offer and share fresh approaches to sponsors who have long term experience. The object of this workshop is to answer questions, share experiences, and to help those of us who are sponsors the opportunity to enhance our ability to reach out to our fellows and guide them in recovery.
